Iam directly related to Jack Bawden of North Moulton Devon who passed away from the effects of entric fever contracted while serving with the 2nd Devons in South Africa, Boer War. He died in 1911 his wife Mary emigrated to Australia and married again. I am looking to contact anyone still living in the North Moulton area related to Jack. Regards Viv Dodt

Love your site. Trying to trace Bawden ancestors who married into the Rogers family in Blisland and St Brewards Cornwall, my family kept the name Bawden as a middle name in New Zealand.

My father was Francis John Bawden of Redruth, Cornwall, his father also Francis John Bawden. My father was born in Redruth, but his four (younger) sisters were born in South Africa in the 1920's. His sisters were Eileen, Eleanor and Dorothy, plus one other who was 'lost in the bush' in SA, supposedly taken by a lion while their nannies weren't paying attention.

My mother was Elizabeth (Betty) Amelia Bawden (nee Hooper) also of Redruth.

I notice with interest the Francis John Bawden on your tree, which must be more than pure coincidence, but can't be either of 'my' Francis John Bawdens.
